1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Personal information you disclose to us

In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.

Personal Information Provided by You. The personal information that we collect may include the following:

  • names
  • email addresses
  • usernames
  • contact or authentication data
  • billing addresses

In-App Messages and Direct Messages

When you send messages or direct messages to other users through Nexus:

  • We store the content of your messages, including any attachments you send
  • Messages are retained for 30 days, then automatically deleted from our systems
  • Message contents are accessible only to you and the recipient(s)
  • We do not routinely access message contents except in response to user reports of harassment, abuse, or Terms of Service violations
  • If you report a user for harassment, we may review the reported messages to investigate the complaint

Billing and Mailing Addresses

  • We collect physical addresses when you make purchases or subscribe to paid services through our payment processor (Stripe)
  • This may include billing address, shipping address (if applicable), city, state/province, postal code, and country
  • Addresses are primarily collected and stored by our payment processor; we may retain minimal address information for order fulfillment and tax compliance purposes

Sensitive Information

When necessary, with your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, we process the following categories of sensitive information:

  • data about a person's sex life or sexual orientation

Legal Names for Collaboration Release Forms

When you participate in a collaboration on Nexus and choose to use Nexus's consent management system, we collect your full legal name for the purpose of creating a legally binding release form.

What we collect:

  • Full legal name (first and last name)
  • Digital signature with timestamp
  • IP address at time of signature (for audit trail and fraud prevention)

Who can see it:

  • Other participants in that specific collaboration - Your legal name is visible only to the other collaborators in the same project, as it appears on the shared release form
  • Not public - Your legal name is never displayed on your public profile, searchable, or shared outside the collaboration
  • Not accessible to Nexus staff through routine access - Legal names are stored in the database but not exposed through any admin dashboards or customer support tools

How it's protected:

  • Transmitted using encrypted HTTPS connections
  • Stored in our secured PostgreSQL database with encryption at rest
  • All access to release form data is logged with timestamps and IP addresses for audit purposes
  • Only accessible programmatically through authenticated API requests

Retention: Legal names and signatures are retained indefinitely to maintain the legal validity of release forms. Collaborators may depend on these records to prove their rights to use collaborative content, potentially years after the collaboration occurred.

Payment Data

We may collect data necessary to process your payment if you choose to make purchases, such as your payment instrument number, and the security code associated with your payment instrument. Information automatically collected

In Short: Some information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Services.

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information.

We Do Not Sell Your Information. We have not disclosed, sold, or shared any personal information to third parties for a business or commercial purpose in the preceding twelve (12) months. We will not sell or share personal information in the future belonging to website visitors, users, and other consumers.

Public Profile Information. When you create an account on our Services, certain information from your profile will be publicly accessible on the internet to anyone, including non-registered visitors. This publicly displayed information includes: your stage name, profile photo, location, gender, orientation, position, hosting preferences, travel preferences, social media links, account creation date, hashtags/tags, and your collaboration portfolio. This information can be viewed by anyone on the internet without logging in and may be indexed by search engines.

Information that is NOT made public includes your email address, payment information, subscription status, notification preferences, and any account settings or administrative data.

In Short: We may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect and store your information.

We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to gather information when you interact with our Services. Some online tracking technologies help us maintain the security of our Services and your account, prevent crashes, fix bugs, save your preferences, and assist with basic site functions.

In Short: If you choose to register or log in to our Services using a social media account, we may have access to certain information about you.

Our Services offer you the ability to register and log in using your third-party social media account details. Where you choose to do this, we will receive certain profile information about you from your social media provider.

In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.

We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records.

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals.
